Yoash reigns righteously under Yehoyada’s guidance, repairs the Beit HaMikdash, but is later assassinated by his own servants.

Yoash rules Yehudah and institutes a successful collection system using a chest with a bored hole to fund critical repairs for the Beit HaMikdash. After Yehoyada passes away, Yoash uses sacred temple treasures to bribe King Chazaael of Aram to withdraw from invading Yerushalayim. Yoash's reign ends tragically when he is assassinated by his disgruntled servants in a conspiracy.
