God's covenant with David
Dovid tells the prophet Natan that he wishes to build a permanent house for the Aron. Hashem tells Natan that Dovid will not build the Temple; instead, his son will build it. However, Hashem establishes an eternal covenant with Dovid, promising his throne will endure forever. Dovid responds with a humble prayer of gratitude.
