Remembering his covenant with Yonatan, Dovid seeks out any remaining members of Shaul's family to show them kindness. He is introduced to Mefiboshet, who is disabled in both feet. Dovid restores all of Shaul's ancestral lands to him and decrees that Mefiboshet will always eat at the king's table.
