Yeshayahu delivers a crushing prophecy concerning the fall of Babylon, commanding a banner to be raised upon a high mountain to summon consecrated warriors. The Day of Hashem arrives with fierce wrath, darkening the sun, moon, and stars, and punishing the world for its arrogance. The fierce Medes are stirred up to conquer Babylon, reducing the glorious kingdom into a permanent wasteland inhabited only by wild desert creatures.
