STARS
The kings many wives give him shiny STARS to distract him from his work
Shlomo's many foreign wives lead his heart astray to idolatry, prompting Hashem to tear the kingdom away from his son.
In his old age, Shlomo marries many foreign women who turn his heart toward their gods, and he builds high places for them. Angry, Hashem decrees that the kingdom will be torn from his son. Hashem raises adversaries against Shlomo, including Hadad, Rezon, and Yerovam. The prophet Achiyah tears his cloak into twelve pieces, telling Yerovam he will rule ten tribes.
