Achav ignores the true prophet Michayehu and goes to war alongside Yehoshafat, resulting in Achav's death by a stray arrow.
Achav allies with Yehoshafat of Yehudah to capture Ramot Gilad. While false prophets assure victory, the true prophet Michayehu warns of disaster and is imprisoned. Despite disguising himself in battle, Achav is struck by a randomly shot arrow and bleeds to death in his chariot. Dogs lick his blood by the pool of Shomron, fulfilling Eliyahu's prophecy.
