Amatzyah of Yehudah defeats Edom but loses a disastrous war against Yoash of Israel, while Yerovam II rules Israel during a golden age.

Amatzyah rules Yehudah righteously, avenges his father's murder, and defeats Edom in battle. Filled with pride, Amatzyah challenges Yoash king of Israel to war, resulting in a crushing defeat for Yehudah, the looting of the Beit HaMikdash, and the breaching of Yerushalayim's walls. Meanwhile, Yerovam II rules Israel, successfully restoring its ancient borders.
