Chizkiyahu prays for deliverance, Yeshayahu prophesies salvation, and an angel slaughters 185,000 Assyrian soldiers overnight.

Distressed by Ravshakeh's threats, Chizkiyahu tears his garments and sends messengers to Yeshayahu the Prophet. Yeshayahu assures him that Sancheriv will retreat, and Chizkiyahu prays fervently in the Beit HaMikdash for divine intervention. That night, an angel of Hashem strikes down 185,000 soldiers in the Assyrian camp, prompting Sancheriv to flee back to Nineveh, where his own sons assassinate him.
