Nevuchadnetzar destroys Yerushalayim, burns the Beit HaMikdash, exiles the remaining Jews, and the newly appointed governor Gedalyah is assassinated.

Following Tzidkiyahu's rebellion, Nevuchadnetzar launches a brutal two-year siege of Yerushalayim, causing a catastrophic famine. The city walls are breached, Tzidkiyahu is captured and blinded, and Nebuzaradan burns down the Beit HaMikdash, levels the city, and exiles the populace. Gedalyah is appointed governor over the remaining peasants but is quickly assassinated by Yishmael, causing the remnants to flee to Egypt.
