Yehoyakim rebels against Babylon, and King Nevuchadnetzar besieges Yerushalayim, exiles King Yehoyachin and the elites, and appoints Tzidkiyahu.

Yehoyakim serves Nevuchadnetzar of Babylon for three years before rebelling, bringing raiders from multiple nations against Yehudah. His son Yehoyachin inherits a besieged Yerushalayim and quickly surrenders to Nevuchadnetzar, who loots the temple treasures and carries the king, royal family, warriors, and craftsmen into exile (the first exile). Nevuchadnetzar appoints Tzidkiyahu as a puppet king, who also eventually rebels.
