Yeshayahu (Isaiah) — Perek 21

The vision of the fall of Babylon to Media and Persia, the query from Dumah in Seir, and the devastation of the caravans of Dedan.

Yeshayahu experiences a terrifying vision of a whirlwind from the desert: Elam and Media besiege and conquer Babylon while its nobles feast. A watchman reports the news: 'Babylon is fallen, is fallen!' A brief oracle from Dumah in Seir asks the watchman about the long night, receiving the answer that morning comes, but also night. Devastation is decreed upon the desert caravans of Dedan, and the glory of Kedar will vanish within a year.
