Yeshayahu (Isaiah) — Perek 51

Look to Avraham and Sarah, comfort for the ruins of Tzion, the awakening of Hashem's arm, and the removal of the cup of trembling.

The seekers of righteousness are urged to look to the quarry from which they were hewn—Avraham and Sarah—for Hashem blessed and multiplied them from one, and will transform Tzion's wilderness into an Eden. The arm of Hashem that dried the ancient Sea of Reeds is summoned to awaken and redeem the ransomed. Yerushalayim, which drank the bitter cup of divine fury to its dregs, has the cup of trembling removed and placed into the hands of her tormentors.
