King Achaz of Yehudah trembles as King Rezin of Aram and King Pekach of Israel ally to invade Yerushalayim. Yeshayahu meets Achaz at the aqueduct, urging faith and assuring him that the hostile alliance will completely fail. When Achaz refuses to ask for a sign, Hashem gives the sign of Immanu-El, promising deliverance while warning that the Assyrian king will shave the land like a hired razor.
