Yeshayahu (Isaiah) — Perek 6

Yeshayahu's inaugural vision of Hashem on a throne surrounded by Seraphim, his purification by a burning coal, and his commission to prophesy.

In the year King Uziyahu dies, Yeshayahu sees Hashem seated upon a high, exalted throne with the Seraphim proclaiming His holiness threefold. Overwhelmed by his impurity, Yeshayahu's lips are purified by an angel with a burning coal taken from the altar. When Hashem asks whom to send, the prophet volunteers, receiving a sober mission to prophesy to a spiritually hardened people until severe desolation leaves a holy seed.
