Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah) — Perek 23

Hashem condemns bad shepherds, promises a righteous branch of David, and denounces false prophets.

Woe is pronounced upon the leaders (shepherds) who scatter the flock. Hashem promises to gather the remnant and raise up a righteous 'Branch' of David to rule justly. The majority of the chapter is a fierce denunciation of the false prophets who prophesy lies, claim false dreams, and falsely say 'Peace' to those who despise Hashem.
