Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah) — Perek 30

The Book of Consolation begins with promises of physical and spiritual restoration for Yaakov.

Hashem commands Yirmiyahu to write words of comfort in a book. It describes a coming time of great distress, 'the time of Yaakov's trouble,' but promises he will be saved out of it. The yoke of foreign oppression will be broken, and they will serve Hashem and 'David their king.' The chapter promises the rebuilding of the city and the punishment of their oppressors.
