Fleeing Izevel's wrath, Eliyahu travels to Har Chorev where he experiences a profound divine revelation in a silent, thin voice.

Threatened with death by Izevel, Eliyahu flees into the wilderness in despair. An angel sustains him, and he journeys forty days to Har Chorev. There, Hashem reveals Himself not in wind, earthquake, or fire, but in a 'still, thin sound.' Hashem commands Eliyahu to anoint Chazael, Yehu, and Elisha, who will succeed him as prophet.
