Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah) — Perek 19

Yirmiyahu smashes a clay jug in the Valley of Hinnom to symbolize the shattering of Yerushalayim.

Hashem commands Yirmiyahu to take a clay jug and the elders to the Valley of Ben-hinnom. He proclaims a disaster so terrible it will make the ears tingle, as punishment for idolatry and child sacrifice. He smashes the jug, declaring that Hashem will shatter the people and the city beyond repair.
