Pashchur beats Yirmiyahu, leading the prophet to complain about the burning fire in his bones.

Pashchur the priest beats Yirmiyahu and puts him in stocks. Upon release, Yirmiyahu renames him 'Magor-missaviv' (Terror on every side). Yirmiyahu pours out a bitter complaint, feeling deceived by Hashem and mocked by the people. Yet, he cannot stop prophesying because God's word is like a burning fire shut up in his bones. He ends by cursing the day he was born.
