Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah) — Perek 37

When the Egyptian army approaches, Yirmiyahu is falsely accused of defecting and is imprisoned.

The Babylonian siege is temporarily lifted when the Egyptian army marches out. Tzidkiyahu asks for prayers, but Yirmiyahu warns the Chaldeans will return and burn the city. While attempting to leave the city to claim property, Yirmiyahu is arrested by a sentry, falsely accused of defecting to Bavel, beaten, and thrown into a dungeon. Tzidkiyahu secretly meets him and moves him to the court of the guard.
