Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah) — Perek 42

The people ask Yirmiyahu for divine guidance, but he warns them not to flee to Mitzrayim.

The remnant, led by Yochanan, asks Yirmiyahu to pray for direction, promising to obey Hashem whether it is good or bad. After ten days, the answer comes: if they stay in Yehudah, Hashem will build them up and protect them from Bavel. If they flee to Mitzrayim, the sword and famine they fear will follow them there and they will perish.
