Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah) — Perek 43

The arrogant leaders reject the prophecy and force the remnant, including Yirmiyahu, to Mitzrayim.

Yochanan and the arrogant men accuse Yirmiyahu of lying and being manipulated by Baruch. Defying the word of Hashem, they force the entire remaining population of Yehudah, including Yirmiyahu and Baruch, to go to Mitzrayim (Egypt). Upon arriving in Tahpanhes, Yirmiyahu hides large stones in the brick pavement, prophesying that Nevuchadnetzar will set his throne right on that spot.
