Chapter Summary

The Judeans in Mitzrayim defiantly burn incense to the Queen of Heaven, sealing their doom.

Yirmiyahu rebukes the refugees in Mitzrayim for continuing the idolatry that destroyed Yerushalayim. The people defiantly answer that they will continue baking cakes and burning incense to the 'Queen of Heaven', claiming they only suffered when they stopped doing so. Yirmiyahu prophesies their total destruction, giving the future fall of Pharaoh Hophra as a sign.
