Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah) — Perek 48

A lengthy and detailed prophecy of judgment and utter devastation against Moav.

Moav is condemned for its pride, complacency, and trusting in its own wealth and the god Kemosh. The prophecy systematically lists the cities of Moav that will be destroyed. Moav has been 'at ease from his youth' like wine left on its dregs, but now will be poured out and shattered. A glimmer of hope is offered at the very end, promising a future restoration for Moav.
